This position is responsible for identifying, estimating, and successfully obtaining construction projects that meet company objectives.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
- Assist project management to determine what types of projects to bid, strategies, techniques, to ensure competitive pricing.
- Review all final estimate packages prior to final submission to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Participate in presentations to clients to close the “sale.”
- Provide technical expertise in negotiating contracts and change orders as required, to make certain company goals are met.
- Assist in the preparation of studies, materials and methods, recommendations, and cost estimates to develop proper strategic direction.
- Develop standard bid strategies to make certain work is secured.
- Explore opportunities for new work to expand existing market.
- Comply, understand, and support company safety initiatives are met to ensure a safe work environment.
Summary of Education and Experience
- BS in Construction Management, or related field preferred, or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience
- Minimum eight (8) years experience.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), estimating software and contract administration software.
- Experience in building estimating and related functions plus thorough knowledge of building issues that impact estimating, estimating strategies and techniques, and contracts.
- Experience with interfacing with sub-contractors on projects to meet common objectives
- Excellent organizational, supervisory, and decision making/problem solving skills essential.
- Strong written and oral communication skills to effectively disseminate information.
